About Us

Our relationship with animals and land is symbiotic, meaning we maintain a balance of give and take. We strive to give more than we take, maintaining a commitment to organic and regenerative farming practices that improve the soil, the atmosphere, and the lives of domestic and wild plants and animals. This means we carry on our great grandparents’ traditional farming practices like rotational grazing, while implementing modern practices to enrich the land, including soil nutrient management and stream buffer expansion.

Our family has farmed on the same land along Bertrand Creek for 80 years. Originally called Sikomekl, Bertrand Creek is a salmon-bearing tributary of Nooksack River. As farmers and biologists, we deeply value our interconnectedness with our fellow people, animals, plants, and microorganisms who live together with us in this watershed. Land stewardship is at the heart of all we do.

Growing and eating good local food has always been our family’s passion. Each meal we share includes an acknowledgement of gratitude for where our food came from, often just steps from our back door. With the help of our bovine family members — Holstein and Jersey cows who enjoy seasonal pasture and homegrown forage — we make artisan, cultured dairy products that are sustainable from soil to spoon. From our animal welfare standards to our recyclable glass packaging, we strive for meaningful positive impact in every step of food production.
